Ayurvedic Massage Origin

The Ayurvedic Massage is part of prevention health system, developed in India over 3000years by the Rishis (mystics and wise mans). They wrote a famous book called Vedas.

The Ayurveda System has many branches and massage is one of them, using the massage techniques with the aim to bring balance in all the levels.

Ayurveda means in Sanskrit literally the Science of Life or the Science of Longevity.

Ayurveda is a natural healing system well described on a sacred book called Rig Veda as well on the Atharva Veda booth with more the 3000 years old.

Through the years the ayurvedic system developed and was also adapted to help the individual on the most efficient way, considering the individual body constitution, climate the person is living, diet to be use etc.

Asoka an Indian Emperor on the years 327 to 272AC, was responsible of the establishment of many ayurvedic hospitals, also sending ayurvedic doctor to China, Arabian, Persia and Greece. For example, Athens was greatly influenced by the ayurvedic medicine and the traditional Greek medicine got the principles of the dosha from the ayurveda. Greece influences a lot on the development of the western medicine. Is also known the influence of Ayurveda on the Chine medicine that use pulse diagnoses, and energy meridians like the marmas points in ayurvedic medicine.

Until the year 1920, ayurveda was the main medicine practice in India, with the influence of the western like the English culture, the western medicine become popular and now a days again Ayurvedic medicine has it place on the Holistic Healing Methods and on the last 30 years is well know all over the word.

The ayurvedic Medicine was taken to USA and Europe by Maharish Mahesh Yoga in the 1960. In 1980 was stabilished a Congress in India revive the hounor of ayurvedic medicine and take the same valour as the western medicine.

Now a days ayurveda is a medical science recognized with more the n 500 hospital practice it around the country and the orthodox doctor and ayurvedic doctors are working in harmony and some times in team work.
